Young Amb. Program

A set of design delivarables tailored for a national mentorship program aimed at college freshman.

The Young Ambassadors Program is a national program run by Smithsonian Museum of the American Latino, that gathers 20+ students after their senior year of high school to learn about the importance of museums, Latino culture, and networking.

As a support staff member, I was tasked with creating sets of deliverables throughout Washington Week, an activity packed week full of last minute changes and extreme need for flexibility. My responsibilities include creating name badges, business cards for program particapants, and networking dinner collatoral.

The main goal in this set of deliverables was to adapt existing artifacts to the newly created brand guidelines. The museum's new logo, colors, and identity needed to shine through the assets I created to become long lasting templates for this program and the museum. As I began creating templates in Illustrator, I leaned into the vibrant nature of the brand identity, focusing on the diversity of Latine expression through color.

Adapting New Brand Systems

My template-based work eased access for others to use in the future.

Knowing the constraints of the program's staffing, there likely would not be another graphic designer assisting with work in the near future. After the programming week ended, I ensured that all of the delivered assets were available as Illustrator templates. By carefully packaging these files for future use, I alleviated future struggles from program staff and created thoughtful and practical artifacts.
